Description

Prefer a dark, understated look? This set puts a black, carbon-finish Off-Road Hoverboard together with the Hoverkart with Suspension, a go-kart seat for hoverboards. Stand on the board to cross grass and sand, or strap it into the kart frame to take corners seated, with the sprung seat adding comfort and grip.

Key features

  • Black carbon-look finish
  • Two 400 W motors driving 8.5-inch off-road tyres
  • Seat on springs that cushion bumps and help the kart hold on
  • On the board: LED lights, Bluetooth speaker, non-slip footpads; carry bag in the box

Where you can ride it

Private land only, with the landowner's permission.

Ride it on private land, with the landowner's permission. Not on roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in parks. Fitted to a hoverboard, the kart may only be used on private land, with the landowner's permission.

The manufacturer's age guidance for riding the board: from around 8, with adult supervision. Wear a helmet and wrist, knee and elbow guards.

Questions riders ask

Where can I use this set in Great Britain?

On private land alone, and only once its owner has said yes. Seat fitted or not, the law sees a powered transporter, which is not allowed in parks or on pavements, roads or cycle lanes.

Who can ride the board?

The manufacturer's guidance is from around 8, with adult supervision every time, and the board carries a standing rider of up to 120 kg.

Why a seat with springs?

The springs soak up jolts from bumpy ground and help the kart hold its line. On a flat, even surface they have less work to do.

Can I ride it on grass?

Yes, as long as it is private land: the off-road tyres, 8.5 inches across, cope with grass, sand and unpaved ground. Slow right down before ruts, roots and loose stones.

What do I get in the set?

The Off-Road Hoverboard in Carbon, the Hoverkart with Suspension, a carry bag and the board's charger (3-pin UK plug to BS 1363, fused).

How do you steer when seated?

With your hands rather than your feet. You sit on the frame with the board underneath: one lever makes one wheel go faster, the other slows the opposite wheel, and that is how you change direction.

Can the board still be ridden standing?

Yes. Loosen the straps, lift the board clear of the frame and it is a standing hoverboard again; the seat goes back on whenever you want to sit.

Will the frame fit an adult?

It adjusts from child to adult size. The supplier has yet to give a seated weight limit, so for a heavier rider, ask us first.

Charger and plug

Plug
UK 3-pin (BS 1363), fused
Charger model
[TO CONFIRM: charger model number]

Your board's own charger, from its box, is the only one to use. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one. Plug it straight into a wall socket and do not use a travel adaptor.

Charging at home

  • Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
  • Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
  • When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
  • Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the board or the charger.

Stop and contact us

Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.

Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.

Recycling

Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this board, its pack or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.

Recycling the board and battery

Sending a battery product back

Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.

Riding rules in Great Britain

With the Hoverkart seat fitted, the law still sees a powered transporter. Private land only, if the owner agrees: never on a public road or pavement, never in cycle lanes, car parks, playgrounds or parks, and nowhere open to the public.

Kit for each rider, each time: a helmet first, then guards on both wrists, elbows and knees. Children only ride while an adult supervises them the whole time.

Board alone: recommended age from around 8, with adult supervision, for riders up to 120 kg. With the seat on: [TO CONFIRM: weight limit and minimum age with the seat on]
