Whose ground is it?
Private land, with permission
Questions riders ask
Does the colour change anything apart from the look?
No. Chrome Blue shares its motors, battery, tyres and 120 kg limit with the other 8.5-inch designs.
Can I clean it with water?
Use a damp cloth rather than a hose or a bucket, and keep water away from the charging port. There is no water-resistance figure from the supplier, so treat the board as an electrical device.
Which charger should I use?
Only the one supplied with the board. Ask us before you connect any other charger.
How far does one charge go?
Up to about 6 miles (10 km). Rider weight, speed and soft ground all reduce that distance.
Can I fit a seat to this board later?
Yes. Whichever of our two boards you own will take either Hoverkart seat, plain or sprung. Strapping the frame on is a job of minutes, and slackening the straps lets the board out again when you want to stand.
What age is it for?
The manufacturer's age guidance is from around 8, always with an adult supervising, on private land and nowhere else. Weight counts as much as age: up to 100 kg for the smaller board, up to 120 kg for the larger one.
Where in Great Britain can I ride it?
Nowhere but private land, and then with the landowner's consent. British law files hoverboards under powered transporters, which shuts out every public space: streets and pavements, cycle lanes, car parks and parks included. Riding there is an offence, and the police may take the board.
What extras does the board have?
On the board: a Bluetooth speaker, LED lighting and non-slip footpads. The order also includes a carry bag.

Your board's own charger, from its box, is the only one to use. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one. Plug it straight into a wall socket and do not use a travel adaptor.
Charging at home
- Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
- Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
- When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
- Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the board or the charger.
Stop and contact us
Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.
Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.
Recycling
Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this board, its pack or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.
Recycling the board and battery
Sending a battery product back
Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.
Riding rules in Great Britain
The short legal version: motor vehicle status, with no route onto British roads. Anywhere the public has access is ruled out, from roads, pavements and cycle tracks to parks and car parks; riding there is an offence, and the police can take a board away if it is used in the wrong place.
Private land only, if the owner agrees. Every ride: helmet on, guards on wrists, elbows and knees, and an adult watching whenever a child rides.
Recommended age: from around 8, with adult supervision. Maximum rider weight: 120 kg.
