These terms govern every order on voltesmobility.uk. Read them before you pay. Version: [TO CONFIRM: terms version and date]

1. About us

1.1 Voltes Mobility is a trading name of Ampes B.V., registered in the Netherlands. Wherever these terms say "we" or "us", that is Ampes B.V.; "you" is the person ordering.

1.2 E-mail: info@voltesmobility.uk; letters go to the seller address above. The contact page lists our hours and reply times.

1.3 Orders are for consumers buying for private use, and the person ordering must be 18 or older.

2. Our products and how they may be used

2.1 Product pages give the description, the specifications and the limits. Finishes are photographed with care, but screens vary, so a colour may look a little different in real life.

2.2 Boards and kart sets may be ridden only where the land is private and the owner has agreed. Pavements, public roads, parks, cycle lanes and tracks, and any other publicly accessible place are off-limits; our page on how to ride responsibly explains why.

2.3 Age, per the manufacturer: from around 8, with adult supervision. Rider weight must stay within the limit given on the product page (100 kg or 120 kg, by board size). [TO CONFIRM: kart limits – maximum load and minimum age]

2.4 Read the manual in the box before anyone rides, and keep it.

3. How the contract is made

3.1 Ordering works in four steps: basket, delivery details, payment details, order summary. Up to the final button ("Pay now") you can go back and fix any typing error or change the basket.

3.2 The "Pay now" click is a binding order. An e-mail then confirms that your order has reached us. [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – when exactly the contract comes into existence]

3.3 Language of the contract: English. Your order is stored on our system; by e-mail you receive the order details, the cancellation text plus the model form, and these terms, all of which you can keep. This page can be saved or printed too.

3.4 Sometimes we have to turn an order down, say because the address lies outside our delivery area or an item has sold out. You then hear from us and get back any money paid, without undue delay.

3.5 [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – handling of an obvious pricing error]

4. Prices and payment

4.1 Prices: pounds sterling, UK VAT included [TO CONFIRM: once GB VAT-registered]. Delivery inside our delivery area: free.

4.2 No payment method costs extra. Checkout shows the methods open to you.

4.3 [TO CONFIRM: moment the payment is taken, for instance at "Pay now"]

5. Delivery

5.1 Our delivery area is the whole United Kingdom – England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including the Scottish islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly – plus the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey).

5.2 Expected delivery time: 3–5 working days. Absent an agreed date, delivery happens without undue delay and at the latest on the 30th day after the contract.

5.3 [TO CONFIRM: DDP – if so: "Import VAT and any duty are paid by us; nothing is due when the goods arrive."]

5.4 Boards and kart sets travel under dangerous-goods rules because of their lithium-ion battery, with a courier that has agreed to carry them. [TO CONFIRM: what the courier needs at the door, for example a signature]

5.5 Risk passes to you once the goods are physically in your hands, or in the hands of someone you nominated. Before that moment, it stays with us.

5.6 Late delivery: once the agreed date has passed, you can allow us a reasonable extra period. Should that pass too, or was the original date essential, the contract may be treated as ended, with all your money returned. [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – late delivery clause]

6. Your right to cancel

6.1 You can cancel within the cancellation period without giving a reason. The legal cancellation information follows, in the model wording of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (Schedule 3). The model cancellation form is on our cancellation page and in your order confirmation.

6.2 Batteries with damage, swelling, leaks or signs of overheating must stay out of the post. Ask us first: our courier collects, and we explain the packing.

7. Your statutory rights

7.1 By law, everything we deliver must match the contract: as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (Consumer Rights Act 2015).

7.2 If they fall short: within the first 30 days, rejection with a full refund; after that, repair or replacement first; and where that is impossible or fails, a price cut or a refund, possibly minus an amount for your use of the goods.

7.3 Apart from these rights we give no commercial guarantee of our own. These terms do not limit your statutory rights in any way. More detail: your statutory rights.

8. Repairs and service

8.1 Voltes Mobility has no UK premises: no shop, no workshop, no service point. When something needs fixing, ask us before sending anything, and together we agree how the product travels.

8.2 A repair or replacement owed under your statutory rights is free for you, transport included.

8.3 [TO CONFIRM: paid repair service for GB riders – yes or no, and how it works]

9. Our responsibility for loss or damage

9.1 [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – liability clause] We are liable to you for foreseeable harm that results from our breach of these terms or from a lack of reasonable care and skill on our part. Foreseeable means obvious, or something both sides had in mind as possible at the time of contracting.

9.2 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not let us exclude or limit, for instance where negligence causes death or personal injury, where there is fraud, or where your statutory rights are concerned.

9.3 Loss that results from using a product against its instructions or against the law (riding on a public road or pavement, for example) is not ours to bear, to the extent the law lets us exclude it. [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – fairness check of this exclusion]

9.4 Our products are for private use, so we do not answer for business losses such as lost profit or lost business opportunities.

10. Use and care

10.1 Every ride: a helmet plus guards for wrists, knees and elbows. Younger riders need an adult present.

10.2 Charging: the supplied charger only, a hard dry surface, someone nearby throughout; never overnight, never a damaged battery, never one still warm from a ride.

10.3 Where to ride: see 2.2.

11. Complaints

11.1 Complaints go through the contact page or by letter. We confirm receipt within [TO CONFIRM: acknowledgement period] and answer in full within [TO CONFIRM: full-answer period].

11.2 [TO CONFIRM: ADR – delete if we join a scheme] No alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme covers us at present; the courts remain available to you.

12. Recycling

12.1 Electrical waste and batteries stay out of household bins. Our recycling page lists where they go and how take-back works. [TO CONFIRM: take-back route – keep option A or option B and delete the other]

13. Your personal data

13.1 Personal data: see our privacy notice.

14. Law and courts

14.1 [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – choice of law (NL or England and Wales)] Dutch law governs these terms. A consumer living in the UK keeps the mandatory consumer protection of their own part of the UK and may bring a claim before its courts.

15. Other terms

15.1 [TO CONFIRM: solicitor – general clauses such as transfer, severability, third-party rights]
