Description

Blue from end to end: a 6.5-inch hoverboard in Chrome Blue, paired with Hoverkart Blue, a go-kart seat for hoverboards in a colour that matches the board. Ride the board alone, standing, or slot it into the kart frame and sit down.

Standing or seated

By itself, the board is a 700 W self-balancing hoverboard on 6.5-inch wheels that reaches up to 7.5 mph (12 km/h). Once it sits in the kart frame, the two hand levers take over the steering, and board and kart work as one vehicle.

On the board

  • 700 W motor for a quick pull-away
  • 6.5-inch wheels, steady underfoot and easy to steer
  • Up to about 5 miles (8 km) on a full charge
  • Non-slip footplates, LED lights and a Bluetooth speaker

Where you can ride it

Private land only, with the landowner's permission.

Ride it on private land, with the landowner's permission. Not on roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in parks.

Fitted to a hoverboard, the kart may only be used on private land, with the landowner's permission.

Wear a helmet and wrist, knee and elbow guards. Children ride only under adult supervision.

Questions riders ask

Is there a weight limit with the kart fitted?

The supplier has not yet confirmed a limit for riding seated, or a minimum age with the kart. Standing on the board alone, the limit is 100 kg. If the rider is close to that, check with us before ordering.

Does the kart have its own battery?

Nothing in the kart needs charging: it has no motor and no battery. The hoverboard drives it and is the only part you plug in.

Can I get the board without the kart?

Yes. The same Chrome Blue board on 6.5-inch wheels is sold on its own as the Hoverboard - Chrome Blue.

What colour is the kart?

Blue, to go with the Chrome Blue board. It is the colour-matched kart for this design.

How far does the board go on one charge?

Up to about 5 miles (8 km) on a full charge, according to the manufacturer.

How do you steer when seated?

With your hands rather than your feet. You sit on the frame with the board underneath: one lever makes one wheel go faster, the other slows the opposite wheel, and that is how you change direction.

Can the board still be ridden standing?

Yes. Loosen the straps, lift the board clear of the frame and it is a standing hoverboard again; the seat goes back on whenever you want to sit.

Will the frame fit an adult?

It adjusts from child to adult size. The supplier has yet to give a seated weight limit, so for a heavier rider, ask us first.

Charger and plug

UK 3-pin (BS 1363), fused
Charger model
[TO CONFIRM: charger model number]

Your board's own charger, from its box, is the only one to use. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one. Plug it straight into a wall socket and do not use a travel adaptor.

Charging at home

  • Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
  • Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
  • When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
  • Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the board or the charger.

Stop and contact us

Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.

Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.

Recycling

Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this board, its pack or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.

Recycling the board and battery

Sending a battery product back

Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.

Riding rules in Great Britain

With the Hoverkart seat fitted, the law still sees a powered transporter. Private land only, if the owner agrees: never on a public road or pavement, never in cycle lanes, car parks, playgrounds or parks, and nowhere open to the public.

Kit for each rider, each time: a helmet first, then guards on both wrists, elbows and knees. Children only ride while an adult supervises them the whole time.

Board alone: recommended age from around 8, with adult supervision, for riders up to 100 kg. With the seat on: [TO CONFIRM: weight limit and minimum age with the seat on]
