Description

Everything matches in this set: a glossy 6.5-inch hoverboard in Chrome Pink and a pink Hoverkart (go-kart seat for hoverboards) in a colour to go with it. Ride the board standing as it comes, or set it in the kart and sit down.

The board has a 700 W motor that pulls away briskly and 6.5-inch wheels, and 7.5 mph (12 km/h) is as fast as it goes. Steering in the kart is done with two hand levers. Built into the board are LED lighting, a speaker that connects over Bluetooth, and non-slip footpads.

Where you can ride it

Private land only, with the landowner's permission.

Ride it on private land, with the landowner's permission. Not on roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in parks.

Fitted to a hoverboard, the kart may only be used on private land, with the landowner's permission.

On that land, ride standing or seated, whichever you prefer.

Wear a helmet and wrist, knee and elbow guards. An adult should supervise any child who rides.

Questions riders ask

Which seat comes with this set?

The pink Hoverkart. In this set it is paired with the Chrome Pink board, so the colours go together.

What motor and battery does the board have?

A 700 W motor, plus a 24 V, 4.0 Ah battery (about 96 Wh), on 6.5-inch wheels.

What is on the board besides the motor?

There are LED lights, non-slip footpads that give your shoes grip, and a Bluetooth speaker you can link to your phone for music.

How do you steer when seated?

With your hands rather than your feet. You sit on the frame with the board underneath: one lever makes one wheel go faster, the other slows the opposite wheel, and that is how you change direction.

Can the board still be ridden standing?

Yes. Loosen the straps, lift the board clear of the frame and it is a standing hoverboard again; the seat goes back on whenever you want to sit.

Will the frame fit an adult?

It adjusts from child to adult size. The supplier has yet to give a seated weight limit, so for a heavier rider, ask us first.

Which seat comes with this set?

The one named in the product title: the standard Hoverkart, the Hoverkart with Suspension or a Hoverkart colour-matched to the board. Sets with the other seats have their own pages; not every design comes with all three. The suspension version adds springing, which softens bumps on rough ground.

Where may a kart be ridden?

Exactly where a standing board may go: private property whose owner agrees. In law the seat makes no difference, so public roads and paths, cycle routes, parks and car parks remain out of bounds.

Charger and plug

Charger model
[TO CONFIRM: charger model number]

Your board's own charger, from its box, is the only one to use. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one. Plug it straight into a wall socket and do not use a travel adaptor.

Charging at home

  • Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
  • Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
  • When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
  • Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the board or the charger.

Stop and contact us

Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.

Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.

Recycling

Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this board, its pack or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.

Recycling the board and battery

Sending a battery product back

Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.

Riding rules in Great Britain

With the Hoverkart seat fitted, the law still sees a powered transporter. Private land only, if the owner agrees: never on a public road or pavement, never in cycle lanes, car parks, playgrounds or parks, and nowhere open to the public.

Kit for each rider, each time: a helmet first, then guards on both wrists, elbows and knees. Children only ride while an adult supervises them the whole time.

Board alone: recommended age from around 8, with adult supervision, for riders up to 100 kg. With the seat on: [TO CONFIRM: weight limit and minimum age with the seat on]
