Description

This bike is not an EAPC. In the UK it counts as a motorcycle or moped: on a road it needs vehicle approval, registration, tax, insurance, a driving licence and a motorcycle helmet. Without these, ride it only on private land, with the landowner's permission.

Corsetti Special Edition is the Super73 R Adventure Series with a blue-grey frame carrying orange, yellow and red stripes, a brown bench seat and bronze-coloured rims. The plainer R version is listed as the R Adventure Series Panthro Blue.

Key features, as pictured

  • Brown seat and bronze-coloured rims against the striped frame
  • A coil-sprung shock for the rear wheel, mounted under the seat
  • A telescopic front fork and knobbly fat tyres
  • Chain-driven pedals, plus a hub motor in the rear wheel
  • A panel with a square headlight at the front

Before you choose

Power, battery, speed, range and the rider limits are not confirmed for this edition yet. We will not guess them; ask us if any of them matters for your choice.

How British law classes it

In Great Britain, an e-bike can be ridden like a pedal bike – on roads and cycle paths, without a licence, registration, tax or insurance – only if it is an electrically assisted pedal cycle (EAPC): it has pedals that drive it, its motor has a continuous rated power of no more than 250 W, and the motor stops assisting above 15.5 mph (25 km/h). You must be 14 or over to ride one on the road, and no e-bike may be ridden on the pavement.

A fat tyre e-bike with a motor above 250 W or motor assistance above 15.5 mph (25 km/h) is not an EAPC. In the UK it counts as a motorcycle or moped. A throttle that moves an e-bike above 3.7 mph (6 km/h) without pedalling needs vehicle approval.

Wear a helmet and wrist, knee and elbow guards.

Super73 remains its owner's trade mark; it appears here solely to identify the bike.

Questions riders ask

Can I ride it on a cycle track or a pavement?

No. Neither is open to it, because legally it counts as a motorcycle or moped. Ride it on private land instead, once whoever owns the land has agreed.

What would make it an EAPC?

Pedals that drive it, a motor within the EAPC power limit, and motor help that stops at the EAPC speed limit; the description gives both limits. We have not seen confirmed figures for this model, so we do not call it one.

How does it differ from the R in Panthro Blue?

The photos show the same R layout. The Corsetti Special Edition adds the striped frame, the brown seat and the bronze-coloured rims. We have no confirmed technical differences.

Charger and plug

Charger model
[TO CONFIRM: charger model number]

Charge only with the charger made for this product's battery. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one.

Charging at home

  • Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
  • Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
  • When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
  • Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the battery or the charger.

Stop and contact us

Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.

Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.

Recycling

Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this product, its battery or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.

Recycling batteries and chargers

Sending a battery product back

Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.

Riding rules in Great Britain

Unless the description of this product says otherwise, ride it only on private land, with the landowner's permission: not on roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in parks.

Every ride: helmet on, guards on wrists, elbows and knees, and an adult watching whenever a child rides.
