Description

In this set you get a 6.5-inch self-balancing hoverboard with a camouflage print, plus a Hoverkart, a go-kart seat for hoverboards. Once the board is strapped into the kart frame, it becomes a seated kart you can drift with; ride the board by itself when you would rather stand.

Key features

  • Camouflage print
  • 6.5-inch wheels with a 700 W motor
  • Standard Hoverkart seat for seated riding
  • LED lights, Bluetooth speaker and non-slip footpads

Where you can ride it

Private land only, with the landowner's permission.

Ride it on private land, with the landowner's permission. Not on roads, pavements, cycle lanes or in parks. Fitted to a hoverboard, the kart may only be used on private land, with the landowner's permission.

That goes for the board and the kart alike. As for age, the board's maker advises from around 8, with adult supervision. Wear a helmet and wrist, knee and elbow guards.

Questions riders ask

Can I use the kart away from private land?

No. A hoverboard with a kart seat is still a motor vehicle in law, which is not permitted on cycle lanes, public roads or pavements, or in parks. Keep it to private land, with the landowner's permission.

What age and rider weight apply to the board?

Going by its maker, the board is for riders aged from around 8, with adult supervision, and up to 100 kg when standing.

Can I drift with it?

Seated in the kart, yes: the board lets you slide through turns. Choose a wide, open piece of private land and keep anyone watching at a distance.

What charger comes with it?

The board's own charger; its plug is the fused UK 3-pin kind (BS 1363). Do not swap it for another charger, and only charge it while someone awake is at home.

How does it differ from an Off-Road Hoverboard set?

This board rolls on 6.5-inch wheels with a 700 W motor and reaches up to 7.5 mph (12 km/h). An Off-Road Hoverboard rides on 8.5-inch off-road tyres with 2 × 400 W motors and goes up to 9.3 mph (15 km/h).

How do you steer when seated?

With your hands rather than your feet. You sit on the frame with the board underneath: one lever makes one wheel go faster, the other slows the opposite wheel, and that is how you change direction.

Can the board still be ridden standing?

Yes. Loosen the straps, lift the board clear of the frame and it is a standing hoverboard again; the seat goes back on whenever you want to sit.

Will the frame fit an adult?

It adjusts from child to adult size. The supplier has yet to give a seated weight limit, so for a heavier rider, ask us first.

Charger and plug

Charger model
[TO CONFIRM: charger model number]

Your board's own charger, from its box, is the only one to use. A charger built for a different battery can start a fire; if yours is lost or damaged, ask us before you buy a new one. Plug it straight into a wall socket and do not use a travel adaptor.

Charging at home

  • Where: indoors, in a dry room at normal room temperature, on tiles, stone or concrete, with nothing that can burn close by.
  • Not in a hallway, on the stairs or by the front door: escape routes stay clear.
  • When: only when the pack is no longer warm from the ride, and only while you are in and awake. No overnight charging.
  • Done: unplug the charger. Never cover the board or the charger.

Stop and contact us

Warning signs: the pack bulges, feels hot to the touch, leaks, smells of chemicals, fizzes, crackles or smokes. Stop, unplug, move away from it and contact us. A damaged battery is never ridden or charged again.

Fire: leave the building with everyone else and phone 999 from outside; putting it out is a job for the fire service.

Recycling

Household bins, including the recycling bin, are the wrong place for this board, its pack or its charger. Anything with a lithium-ion pack inside has to be handed in separately.

Recycling the board and battery

Sending a battery product back

Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous goods in transport. Talk to us before you return anything that has one, and we will book a carrier that accepts it. If a battery looks damaged, has swollen, leaks or has got too hot, do not post it: message us first and wait for our instructions.

Riding rules in Great Britain

With the Hoverkart seat fitted, the law still sees a powered transporter. Private land only, if the owner agrees: never on a public road or pavement, never in cycle lanes, car parks, playgrounds or parks, and nowhere open to the public.

Kit for each rider, each time: a helmet first, then guards on both wrists, elbows and knees. Children only ride while an adult supervises them the whole time.

Board alone: recommended age from around 8, with adult supervision, for riders up to 100 kg. With the seat on: [TO CONFIRM: weight limit and minimum age with the seat on]
